RPG Game Design Document​

As part of my game design module, we learnt about what makes games fun and interesting for players, what are the core components that facilitate community and immersion and how to write and structure a full game design document. Our assignment for this module was to design our own game concept and write a full game design document for it in 2 weeks.

My solution was a medieval RPG game called Aristos, a dark and gloomy world in which the player might fight to survive in a land filled with death, disease and poverty (I was really into Dark Souls at the time). I designed player statistics, equipment levels, character skills, a crafting system, a full story as well as NPC backstories, game rules, emergent features and more.  This assignment really inspired my passion for games as I let my imagination expand as well as learning what is really involved in designing a publishable game.
